About the author

Shari Tvrdik, a self proclaimed soccer mom turned missionary to the suffering poor in Mongolia in 2009. Ironically it was the suffering poor she hoped to save in some way that in turn saved her. It was there in Mongolia where God ruined and re-invented her into a woman of deep faith and passion for Jesus. During her eight years of missionary work in Mongolia Shari had the privilege of running Desert Rose, a shelter for street girls as well as working along side her husband Troy Tvrdik as he directed an NGO, Flourishing Future. The two accidentally planted a church in an unreached people group and discovered the gems of growth God had laid out for them all along the missions journey. Now back in the United States, Shari works as director of special projects and communication at Cup of Cold Water Ministries where she serves to mobilize the church for missions. Troy and Shari have been married twenty-eight years. They are the parents to four stubborn beautiful souls and are grandparents to five perfect humans. Shari is a speaker and author of two books: Swimming In Awkward. a memoir and One baby for the world 24 Days of Advent From a Missions Perspective
